Early Childhood Learning

Sky Writing

How are young kindergarteners actually introduced to writing their names, or even the alphabet? Most educationists throughout the world believe that the first tools used to teach writing to children aren't particular pens, markers or crayons. They believe that children should be taught using a multi-sensory approach. The most common approach used first is to get the children to write letters in the air first. These large muscle movements help children process what they are writing and make it more likely to stick.

Our Game

Our game provides a child with a way to visually associate their physical movements in an entertaining game, using the story of a baby alien, Kaju.

How to Play

The Leap Motion Controller can track fingers, or kids can use hold a pencil in their hands to draw letters on the screen. Grab hold of Kaju and drop him on the cloud of your choice to navigate through the gameplay options.

  • The game starts with a beautiful and thought-out cinematic on how the alphabets come to life and run away.
  • Practice Mode lets your child practice infinitely with random letters at their own pace.
  • You can view the features of the full version inside the trial, and choose to go to the Airspace Store from there itself!
Full Version

Grab hold of Kaju and drop him on the cloud of your choice to navigate through the 4 main gameplay options in the full version.

  • Practice Mode lets your child practice infinitely with random letters at their own pace.
  • Time Trial Mode puts your child under the clock, and measures how quickly they can draw in 60 seconds.
  • The Scrapbook lets your child visualise his/her progress with each letter - As your child progresses, the colours also come back in the book.
  • The Video Mode lets your child watch the carefully crafted story again and again.
  • Both the Upper and Lower Case are now supported in the game - Simply, press Caps Lock on your keyboard to toggle!

At any point you may quickly wave your hands, or press "Escape" to quit the current stage of the game you are in.

Teaching kindergarten children how to write is a challenge and this activity can make learning how to write letters fun by skywriting the alphabet. As a teacher, some suggestions I have would be to include a voice saying the name of the letter, the sound that letter makes, and a voice saying the word that begins with that letter instead of just showing pictures. These can be added after the "Yey!" and applause sound you hear after skywriting a letter.

Hi angelmike! Thank you for your feedback! :) When you're talking about voices at the end - are you referring to phonemes or the alphabet's sound? Please feel free to reply at homework@nayidishastudios.com We would love to know more on how you feel about the product.
